Put Your Hands Together - BioArchitects is an architecture firm based in Mumbai, India, with over 14 years of experience in designing beautiful, sustainable and conscious spaces. We specialise in creating homes that harmonise contemporary aesthetics with environmental responsibility, utilising natural materials in their most nascent forms without compromising on comfort. Our practice is rooted in the philosophy of appropriate architecture—designing thoughtfully within ecosystems while fostering meaningful engagement with the communities we serve.

We craft spaces that are sensitive to the impact it creates. Working on a diverse range of projects—from private residences to hospitality architecture, and public buildings, we strive to be conscious in the decisions that we make across all our projects. Our commitment to integrating natural materials with cutting-edge design, paired with a collaborative approach that emphasises social participation throughout the building process distinguishes us.
At PYHT, community engagement is a fundamental part of our process. Whether it’s involving local artisans in the construction process or designing spaces that strengthen communal ties, we’re passionate about making our projects a shared journey. This hands-on, people-first approach ensures our designs resonate deeply with those who live, work, and gather in them.
The PYHT studio thrives on close collaboration, open dialogue, and a shared passion for building with care. The energy at the studio is warm, focused, and full of good vibes. With a core team of four architects including the principal architect, we value clarity, collaboration, and integrity in everything we do. We maintain a culture that balances professionalism with approachability, allowing space for both rigour and creativity. Good energy, thoughtful conversations, and a shared sense of purpose define our everyday work life.
Our Team
The Studio is headed by Ar. Areen Attari and three core architects each of who brings a unique set of talent and combination of skills to get things done.The studio is supported by 3-4 interns during each internship cycle.
Areen Attari
Areen Attari is the creative force, Co-founder & Principal Architect of Put Your Hands Together Bio-Architects. With over a decade of experience teaching at various Mumbai colleges, he has a passion for community-driven projects and natural building techniques. Areen is a master at blending artistry with architecture, infusing each design with his joyful energy, humility, and a deep love for the craft.
Known for his hands-on approach, especially with bamboo, Areen turns every project into a collaborative adventure. His belief in making the most of life’s offerings is reflected in his work, and he inspires his team to embrace this philosophy.
You'll often find Areen in the studio, listening to Portuguese music, sipping on coffee. When he isn't working, he's probably out on the football field, enjoying the game with the same enthusiasm he brings to his work.
Shivani Sampat
Senior Architect
Shivani Sampat is a Senior Architect at PYHT– Bio Architects, where she works across scales, from architecture to interiors. She holds a Master’s in Architecture Design from CEPT University, Ahmedabad, and a B.Arch. from ACOA, Mumbai University. Shivani began her professional journey at SSA Architects, working on premium high-rise towers, where she gained deep insight into large-scale systems, practical workflows, and multidisciplinary coordination. These experiences now inform her work at PYHT, enabling her to translate ambitious ideas into grounded realities.
Inspired by the studio’s warm, collaborative culture, she values thoughtful exploration of materials, combining theory and making, prototyping, and testing. Architecture is a living craft that embraces change, enriches human experience, and transforms every detail into an opportunity for innovation, material discovery, and enduring value.
M. Sharoom
Senior Architect
Sharoom is a Senior Architect at PYHT, where he contributes to the design and execution of projects with a focus on contextual and sustainable approaches. He studied architecture at the University School of Architecture and Planning (USAP), New Delhi.
With over four years of experience, he began his career at Studio Bardo in Almora, engaging in projects from concept to execution and gaining early exposure to the challenges of site work in the Himalayan context. He later joined Dhun in Jaipur, working on explorations of low-rise, high-density development and continues to consult with them on a school project. Beyond architectural practice, Sharoom explores product and furniture design, extending his interest in materials, craftsmanship, and intimate scales of making.
Shruti Patade
Architect
Shruti is an Architect at PYHT, where she is involved in the design and execution of projects with a focus on sustainable practice. A graduate of L.S. Raheja School of Architecture, Mumbai, her thesis explored urban-scale interventions that focused on people, context, and sensitive placemaking. She began her career with Shashi Prabhu Associates and later Studio POD, where she engaged in large-scale urban projects that shaped her early professional foundation.
Shruti approaches design with attention to context, climate, budget, and the needs of each project. Her eclectic interests move fluidly between books, fantasy worlds, and architectural literature, particularly bio-architecture, which continues to inspire and inform her explorations within the field.
