Aaranya Farmhouse
The design cultivates a seamless relationship between inside and outside, allowing shifting views, breezes, and natural light to shape the experience of the home throughout the day. Built in load-bearing Compressed Stabilised Earth Blocks (CSEB), the structure embraces material honesty and thermal efficiency. Select surfaces are finished in tadelakt lime plaster, lending softness and durability, while mild steel roof rafters introduce lightness to the silhouette. Upper-level louvres enhance passive ventilation, ensuring comfort in Hyderabad’s warm climate. Through this integration of spatial openness, crafted materiality, and climatic responsiveness, the Aaranya Farmhouse becomes a grounded, immersive living environment, one in which architecture, landscape, and climate coexist in a cohesive and contemplative balance.
The Aaranya Farmhouse near Hyderabad is envisioned as a residence that unfolds through three carefully articulated volumes: the living block aligned along an infinity lap pool, the guest block set across a lushly planted courtyard spine, and a perpendicular master suite and kitchen block that anchor the ensemble. Together, these volumes create a spatial choreography that is both permeable and interconnected. Every block opens into the central courtyard, generating layered thresholds and multiple circulation paths that encourage movement, interaction, and a continual engagement with water and landscape.
